KTM Gen-2 RC 125: Exterior Design and Styling
Drawing inspiration from its RC16 racing counterpart, the RC 125 features a rider-centric layout designed to prioritize maximum rider contact. Thanks to the ergonomic development of the knee area, riders can sit comfortably without any restrictions in movement. KTM offers a new adjustable handlebar for the bike specifically designed for track and street applications. The clip-on handlebars are 15 mm higher allowing for better rider comfort and visibility.
Along with featuring new footboards, footpegs, new rider and pillion seats, the RC 125 also has a re-designed, race-inspired bodywork. KTM is using Computational Flow Dynamics (CFD) for the bodywork. This has led to a new visor and re-designed mirrors to optimise the aerodynamics. Other notable styling elements include a new Halogen headlamp with LED DRLs, a larger 13.7-litre fuel tank, and a new front fender.
KTM Gen-2 RC 125: Technical Specifications
Powering the 2022 RC 125 is a 125cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine. The engine produces 15 PS of power and 12 Nm of torque. The bike features a larger airbox for improved cooling and power figures. This helps the RC 125 achieve 100 kmph in 14.6 seconds. The bike now features a higher top speed of 120 kmph thanks to a new chassis frame which is 1.5 kg lighter.
The RC 125 features a WP APEX 43mm front suspension with 120mm of travel. Along with this KTM offers a WP APEX mono-shock suspension with 150mm of travel for the rear. The bike’s engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox featuring a mechanically actuated, wet multi-disc clutch.
