Inside the KTM Austria production and development facility, the Motohall area showcases KTM’s history, future product lineup, and legacy.

A latest video shared by Rok Bagoros, a close acquaintance of KTM, shows the prototype of the first-ever electric Duke put up on display at the Motohall.

The prototype model appears to be using the third-gen Duke styling, but with evolved design elements like the new tank shape, a new headlight design, and a 3-D seat foam, which make it look more EV.

While the displayed model does not bear any specification details, as we remember back in 2022 during the presentation, KTM revealed that it will get a 5.5 kWh battery and a 10 kW electric motor.

Assumingly these specs are correct, it will offer a normal riding range of around 150 km, and 100 km in pure sports mode.

It also gets the MotoGP-inspired air duct, which extends around the swingarm, indicating an advanced cooling system for the electric motor and the battery.

Meanwhile, the overall motorcycle looks like a pure KTM from every angle. The tank has an onboard charger with an integrated charging cable and a display screen for the battery health.

The hardware used includes the steel trellis frame, an aluminium swingarm, offset rear monoshock suspension, and a chain-drive system.

As far as the production is concerned, we suspect that it will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan-based plant. The official global debut of the Duke-E can take place next year, probably in the second half.

Our verdict

Considering the fact that Bajaj has put a hefty investment in KTM, the future product expansion of the brand is going to be interesting. We expect numerous products to be incoming from the KTM-Bajaj tie-up, which will also embark on the EV journey of the brand with the launch of the E-Duke.
