KTM India is revamping its 390 Adventure lineup by discontinuing the 390 Adventure X and replacing it with a more advanced variant—the 390 Adventure X Plus. While KTM has yet to make an official announcement, multiple dealer sources confirm that bookings for the Adventure X have been halted nationwide.
The new X Plus variant is expected to launch in the coming weeks and will bridge the gap between the stripped-down Adventure X and the fully loaded standard 390 Adventure.
What’s new in the 390 Adventure X Plus?
The biggest upgrade comes in the form of an IMU-based electronics suite, borrowed from the standard 390 Adventure. Key features include:
- Switchable Cornering ABS
- Switchable Cornering Traction Control
- Cruise Control
- Three Ride Modes: Street, Rain, and Off-Road
These additions will significantly enhance the bike’s touring and off-road capabilities, offering better control and safety across varied conditions.
Design and hardware: Familiar yet functional
The X Plus will retain the same chassis and hardware as the outgoing variant:
- 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels
- Non-adjustable suspension setup
- Road-biased touring geometry with mild off-road ability
While it won’t get the adjustable suspension from the standard model, the stock setup is known for its balance between comfort and agility. Expect minor cosmetic tweaks or new colour options to differentiate the X Plus visually.
Engine and performance
Mechanically, the new motorcycle remains unchanged. It will continue to use the 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 45.3 bhp and 39 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutch.
This engine is already well-regarded for its tractable power delivery and highway-friendly performance.
Expected pricing and launch timeline
The outgoing X was priced at INR 2.91 lakh (ex-showroom). The X Plus is expected to carry a premium of INR 15,000–INR 20,000, placing it just below the standard motorcycle.
KTM is likely to announce the launch officially in the coming weeks, with deliveries expected to begin shortly after.
