Kia India today announced a remarkable feat for its flagship midsize SUV, Seltos. The car has now crossed the 3-lakh sales milestone in the country. Kia also mentioned that the Seltos achieved this feat in less than 3 years. This makes it the fastest SUV to reach the milestone. The Seltos has received an overwhelming response for its segment. This also makes it the most popular product for the company. Furthermore, Seltos is also the only car in the segment that comes with six airbags as standard across variants. On 22nd August 2022, Kia India is all set to celebrate its 3rd anniversary in India. This will mark the completion of three years since the Seltos was launched in India.
Seltos Loved In Both India And Overseas Alike
Seltos has always been the most popular Kia product in India. The car accounts for close to 60 per cent of the company’s total sales in the country. The model has resonated perfectly with the new-age buyers. Seltos’ revitalising design, innovative connectivity features, and in-car experience have made it a top choice amongst the customers. Replicating its successful journey in the Indian domestic market, the Seltos has a strong demand in the overseas market as well. As of today, Kia has exported 103,033 units of Seltos to more than 91 countries.
Customers’ Preferences
Kia India mentioned that 58 per cent of the Seltos sales came from its top variants. Meanwhile, the automatic options of the vehicle contributed to around 25 per cent of total sales. The innovative iMT technology also became an instant success amongst Indian buyers. Currently, 1 out of every 10 Seltos buyers opting for the iMT in 2022. Adding to the convenience is the Diesel powertrain with the iMT gearbox. The most popular variant of the Seltos is HTX Petrol. Unsurprisingly, the most popular colour is White, as is the case with most of the cars sold in India. The demand for diesel and petrol variants is almost equal. Diesel accounted for 46 per cent of the total sales of the Seltos.
