Kia Seltos SUV facelift spotted testing

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Kia is gearing up to introduce a new Seltos. The brand appears to be working on the Kia Seltos facelift in the international market. Spyshots from South Korea show a development mule being tested under heavy camouflage covers. This leads us to believe that a mid-life update of the Seltos is in order.

Kia Seltos Facelift – Design Highlights

The new Kia Seltos development mule appears to be heavily camouflaged on the front and rear. This leads us to believe that the brand could offer a new front fascia as well as changes to the rear. The speculation is because the front and rear of the new Seltos test mule are heavily camouflaged. On the front, the new Seltos is likely to come with revised LED Daytime Running Lamp signatures which are likely to have some resemblance with the recently launched Kia Carens in India. The Seltos is also likely to come with a reprofiled bumper on the front and rear as well as reworked tail lamps.

The spy shots of the car do not give us any hints of the interiors. But the brand is likely to offer mild refreshment on the inside too. The new Seltos is likely to get upgrades to the upholstery and Kia is likely to make some changes in the trim of the facelift to help differentiate the SUV from the predecessor.

Kia Seltos Facelift – Engine Specifications

Powering the Kia Seltos facelift is likely to remain mechanically unchanged. When Kia launches the Seltos in India, the SUV is likely to come with a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a turbocharged 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. The brand offers manual, iMT and automatic transmission options on the Seltos.

Launch Timeline

Kia is likely to introduce the new Seltos sometime next year followed by its launch in the Indian market.
