Kia Motors have announced that the brand will be opening pre-bookings for the Kia Seltos, mid-size SUV, from 16th July 2019 through Kia Motors India website as well as all Kia dealerships across the country. Kia has 206 sales points in India and the brand has 265 touchpoints across 160 cities in the country. The Kia Seltos is slated for launch on 22nd August 2019 and interested buyer’s can pre-book the Seltos at the price of INR 25,000.
The Kia Seltos will be offered in two trims – the family aimed ‘Tech Line’ and the performance-oriented ‘GT Line’. The SUV will be available in three engine variants:-
- Smartstream 1.5 Petrol
- Smartstream 1.4 Turbo petrol
- 1.5 Diesel CRDI VGT
The Seltos gets a total of four gearbox options – 7-speed DCT, 6-speed IVT, 6-Speed AT along with a 6-speed manual transmission. The SUV also gets three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sports which alter the response of the engine along with the steering feedback and weight. For greater grip and control on all surfaces, the Kia Seltos gets 3 traction modes – Mud, Wet/Snow and Sand.
In terms of styling, the Seltos gets a sweeping LED light bar, Kia Tiger nose grille, ice-cube style foglights, aluminium skid plate, spoiler, LED headlamps and LED tail lamps. The 17-inch machine-finished alloy wheels give the Seltos a large SUV-like stance and the GT line is furthermore enhanced with red brake callipers.
On the interior, the Kia Seltos features a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with UVO Connect artificial intelligence (AI) for connectivity features along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, 7.0-inch multi-information display, ambient mood lighting, D-cut steering wheel, 2-step reclining rear seats, 60:40 split seats with adjustable rear centre headrest, sunshade curtains, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, wireless charging, tyre pressure monitoring system, leatherette seating on the GT line, Smart Pure Air purifier which can be controlled through the infotainment system, and more.
In terms of safety, the Kia Seltos gets a host of features like a heads-up display, 360-degree camera, blind view monitor system, six airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), BAS (Break Force Assist System), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Front and Rear Parking Sensors, HAC (Hill-start Assist Control) and ISOFIX child seat anchorage system. The UVO connect smart system can automatically alert the emergency services in case of distress.
