In the international markets, Hyundai is already selling the updated Creta. Infact, even the Kia Seltos is on sale in its new avatar. Recently we reported that the Hyundai Creta facelift has been delayed to 2024, but looks like the Seltos Facelift is on track to be launched in mid 2023.
Changes in the new Kia Seltos Facelift
Coming to the differences on the outside, the new Seltos has subtle changes to the bodywork. The front grille has been enlarged, while the LED daytime running lights have been revised as well. Light strips are also present on the higher trims’ mesh of the grille. Fog lamps are now oriented vertically in a 3-element design. Kia has also changed the design of the wheels. Towards the back, Kia has equipped the new Seltos with a slightly aggressive stance, and full-width LED tail lamps.
On the inside, the major change is the new panoramic screen. This includes dual 10.25-inch screens. One of them is for the infotainment screen while the other is for the driver information. The instrument cluster consists of a 4.2-inch display. Other interior elements are same as the outgoing car.
Kia has also offered ventilated seats and an electric tailgate.
Powertrain of the 2023 Kia Seltos
In India, we can expect the same engines to be offered as before. These include the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines along with 1.4-litre turbo petrol. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-seed torque converter, an iMT, a CVT and a DCT.
However, recently the Creta was updated in India and there is no mention of the 1.4-litre turbo petrol. Hence, it is possible that Kia could also eliminate this engine from the Seltos.
Safety equipment on the 2023 Kia Seltos
Kia will be offering a slew of active safety features like forward collision warning with detection of pedestrians and cyclists, which can automatically apply the brakes if a collision is imminent. A Blind-Spot Collision Warning, Smart Speed Limit Assist and Smart Speed Limit Warning will also be offered. Apart from this, Kia has also beefed up the battery to handle the extra electronics.
