Kia could be planning to update the Seltos SUV in the Indian market with a large panoramic sunroof. According to reports, the South Korean brand will launch the new model in April this year. The new KIA logo is also likely to make its debut in the Indian market with the new Seltos. Apart from the addition of the Panoramic Sunroof, the brand is also likely to add other features to the SUV that will help it compete with the upcoming Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun SUVs.
New Features
At the Chengdu Motor Show 2019 held in China, the South Korean brand showcased the Kia Seltos (KX3) which came with a Panoramic Sunroof. The brand is already selling the panoramic sunroof equipped model in the Chinese market and owing to the demand for the luxury feature, Kia could be thinking of bringing it to India as well. Two things that the Indian market is crazy about is chrome trims and large sunroofs. While the Seltos helped Kia gain a strong foothold in the sales department, after the launch of the Hyundai Creta which shares its engine and platform managed to steal the sales numbers from Kia. The Hyundai Creta comes with a panoramic sunroof and so does competition like the Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
Seltos Features
The Kia Seltos comes with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO Connect features and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, wireless charging, 7.0-inch multi-information display, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, 2-step reclining rear seats, 60:40 split seats with adjustable rear centre headrest, ambient lighting, sunshade curtains, tyre pressure monitoring system, Smart Pure Air purifier etc.
Powertrain
Powering the Kia Seltos is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel motor and a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. The Seltos comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox, a torque converter type 6-speed automatic transmission and the options of a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox depending upon the engine and trim.
