Kia leads Recreational Vehicle Exports from India 3 years in a row

Kia has emerged as the highest-exporting RV in India and it currently holds a 28% market share in Q1 2023. Specifically, Kia Seltos holds a 68% share of KIN’s overall international order dispatches. In less than 4 years of its operation in the country. Kia has become one of the key players in the Recreational vehicles segment (SUV AND MPV) for the 3rd consecutive year. The 2 lakh benchmark is crossed after delivering its products to over 95 countries.

Kia’s Market Share

Kia Seltos, alone, significantly holds 68% of overall exports and 53% of just domestic exports. Kia Carens and Sonet, alongside, follow Seltos in the ranks with 54,406 and 8,230 units respectively. This year, Kia has successfully recorded astoundingly 22% of quarter-on-quarter growth as compared to 2022’s sales growth of 44%. In December 2022, Kia recorded the sales of its highest monthly export where it successfully sold 9462 units.

Lately, foreign markets have contributed to the ever-evolving sale of Seltos, Sonet and Carens. This includes the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, Mexico and Asia-Pacific regions.

Kia plant in Anantpur District

In April 2017, Kia signed an MOU with the State government of Andhra Pradesh to build a new manufacturing plant in Anantapur District. Kia recorded the production of 300,000 units after the commencement of the plant in August 2019. After the production launch of Kia Seltos, Sonet, Carens, Carnival and EV6, the Anantapur district has completed over 8.89 lakh dispatches, including 6.39 lakh domestic sales and 1.96 lakh exports.

Kia making an impact

With over 3 lakh connected vehicles on Indian roads, Kia makes itself a Car leader in the country. Having 425 touchpoints in over 213 cities, Kia continues to imprint its footprints all around the country. Kia attains 52,000 employees, a market presence in 190+ countries it has, at present, sold 3 million vehicles in one year.

Along with Kia UV, the market in today’s date also consists of Hyundai Creta, Toyota Innova, Toyota Fortuner, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and many more.
