Kia has launched the brand’s flagship electric vehicle the Kia EV9 in the Indian market at the price of INR 1.29 Crore ex-showroom. The hefty price tag brings with it a lot of futuristic features, a powerful powertrain and a battery large enough to traverse long distances. The Kia EV9 features the company’s latest Kia Design 2.0, which is a blend of futuristic aesthetics and luxury. However, that’s not it, the KIN transformation 2.0 also brings with it Kia Connect 2.0 and advanced Vehicle to everything (V2X) technology.
Design & Features
In the design department, the Kia EV9 comes very close to its concept and is built on the ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. The Kia EV9 comes with an angular design along with a digital pattern lighting grille. The front is quite bold and comes with a black panel that helps it distinguish itself as an electric vehicle. The Kia EV9 has also won the World Car Of The Year 2024 (WCOTY) award for its futuristic design.
On the inside, the Kia EV9 gets a Trinity panoramic display, which is a combination of three displays. A 12.3-inch high-definition display for the instrument cluster, as well as a 5-inch HD HVAC display, as well as a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen navigation system. The car also gets Hidden Haptic Touchscreen Buttons as well as Over the Air Software Updates.
Seating Comfort
The Kia EV9 also comes with three rows of seat with a 2+2+2 combination. Also, all three row of seats come with AC vents and the 1st and 2nd row features seat heating and ventilation. The driver seat features an 18-way power adjustment with a memory function. The front passenger seat gets 12-way power adjustment and the 2nd row comes with Captain Seats with 8-Way power adjust. The car also comes with massage function on the 2nd row seats as well. The 1st and 2nd row seats also get comfort seats with leg support.
Powertrain
Powering the Kia EV9 is a 99.8 kWh battery, which claims to offer a range of 561 km on a single charge. The battery is capable of charging from 10% to 80% state-of-charge in just 24 minutes with a 350kW DC charger. The battery is connected to electric motors that produce 282.6 kW of power and 700 Nm of torque. The Kia EV9 also comes with Drive Mode & Terrain Mode on the steering wheel.
