Kia cars now more expensive in India

Kia Motors India has hiked the prices of its models by upto INR 1,00,000. This price hike is effective from the new year i.e. with effect from 1 January 2023.

Kia EV6

The highest increase has been for the EV6 electric vehicle. The EV6 is now dearer by INR 1,00,000.

Kia Seltos

Customers looking for the Seltos will have to shell out around INR 20,000 to INR 50,000. The higher increase is for the diesel variant while the buyers opting for the petrol variants will have to cough up INR 20,000. Those customer opting for the turbo-petrol variants will have to pay an additional INR 40,000.

Kia Sonet

Coming to Sonet, Kia has increased the prices of the compact SUV by INR 20,000 for the petrol, INR 25,000 for the turbo-petrol and a whopping INR 40,000 for the diesel version respectively.

Kia Carens

The 7-seater Carens has also got a price hike. The NA petrol variants of the car are now dearer by INR 20,000. Customer opting for the turbo-petrol and diesels will have to pay INR 25,000 and INR 45,000 respectively.

Due to the price hikes, there will also be a corresponding increase in associated costs like insurance, road tax, etc.

8 million sales for Kia in just 41 months

Kia India has released its latest sales report. The brand clocked the best-ever cumulative sales of 3,36,619 units in CY2022. This translates to a growth of 47.7 per cent over CY2021. The brand’s domestic sales stood at 2,54,556 units thus reporting 40.1 per cent year-over-year growth. Meanwhile, the export figure stood at 82,063 units in CY2022. This healthy growth in sales propelled Kia to achieve 8 Lakh cumulative sales since the start of its sales operation in Aug ’19. For the month of December, Kia India registered 15,184 unit sales in the domestic market with 94.7 per cent year-over-year growth.
