The official market debut of the Kia Carnival for the Indian market is scheduled next month, at the 2020 Auto Expo. However, bookings have opened for potential customers who want to be the early birds to drive home in this big and spacious MPV. Now, Kia Motors India has revealed that they received 1,410 bookings for the Carnival MPV in just 1 day. Bookings opened on 21st January 2020, and seems like the brand has yet another winning product for the Indian market after the success of the Seltos. Kia also revealed that 64 out of every 100 bookings for the Carnival were for the top-end Limousine variant.
Not to forget, the booking amount is INR 1,00,000 which is not a small figure; which shows that the potential customers who have booked the MPV might be seriously intending to buy one and not cross shop after the price announcement. The Kia Carnival is available for bookings across their 265 showrooms and also onlin.
The Kia Carnival we expect to be more expensive than the Innova by roughly INR 5 lakh or more. However, the Kia Carnival is super luxurious in comparison and feels much more upmarket than what Toyota has been offering to Indian buyers. The Carnival will be available in Premium, Prestige and Limousine variants. There will be 7-seater, 8-seater and 7-seater layouts with VIP lounge seat with rear seat entertainment package available for the 7-seater Limousine variant. The Kia Carnival is not just big on space, but also big on power as per segment standards. It will come powered by a 2.2L BS6 compliant diesel motor producing 200 PS of power and matched to an 8-speed automatic gearbox only. Time will tell if a cheaper manual variant is introduced for the fleet buyers.
The Kia Carnival will try to lure customers with features such as LED headlamp, LED tail lamp, LED DRLs, LED fog lamps, dual sunroofs, 3-zone climate control, leather seats, electric sliding 2nd row rows, powered tailgate, touchscreen infotainment, air purifier, Harman Kardon audio system, smarthwatch connectivity, etc.
