Kawasaki Ninja 500 coming to Indian market very soon

Kawasaki has teased the Ninja 500 on its official Indian social media channel. This leads us to believe that the brand could be planning to introduce the Ninja 500 in the Indian market soon. The fast cut teaser only shows us a few glimpses but enough to reveal that the brand might be planning to launch the SE variant of the Ninja 500 with the KRT graphics.

Kawasaki revealed the Ninja 500 at the 2023 EICMA and the bike is already available in the international markets. The Ninja 500 shares its powertrain with the Kawasaki Eliminator 500 which is also available in India, under the Urban Cruiser range.

Kawasaki Ninja 500 – Technical Specifications

Powering the Kawasaki Ninja 500 is a 451cc parallel-twin-cylinder, 8-valve DOHC engine with liquid cooling. The engine produces 45 PS of power and 43 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a return type 6-speed gearbox and claims 3.8-litres/100 km of fuel economy. The Kawasaki Ninja 500 comes with a high-tensile steel trellis frame.

The bike rides on telescopic suspension on the front with 120mm of wheel travel and a monoshock on the rear with 130mm of wheel travel. The Ninja 500 comes with a 1,375 mm wheelbase, 145mm of ground clearance, 14-litre fuel tank capacity and kerb weight of just 172 kgs. The Kawasaki Ninja 500 also gets a very approachable 785mm of seat height, inviting riders with short inseams. The Ninja 500 comes with a 310mm single disc on the front and 220mm single disc on the rear.

The Ninja 500 comes with a lightweight and manoeuvrable chassis and a large displacement engine. The brand also offers features such as KIPASS (Kawasaki’s Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System). The key system allows remote activation of the bike’s main switch and steering lock. The Ninja 500 also gets a full-colour TFT display with automatic brightness adjustment. The Ninja also comes with a layered bodywork, latest design Ninja face and a relaxed yet sporty riding position.

Kawasaki Ninja 500 – Competition in India

While Kawasaki is likely to price the Ninja 500 close to the Eliminator 500 which comes at INR 5.62 lakh ex-showroom. Upon launch the Ninja 500 will compete with likes of the Aprilia RS 457 and the Yamaha R3.
