Kawasaki launches MY21 Ninja ZX-10R in India at INR 14.99 lakh

Kawasaki India has launched the MY2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R at the price of INR 14.99 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. The new-generation motorcycle is available in the Indian market in two colour options – Lime green and Flat Ebony Type 2. The all-new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R features a new BS6 compliant powertrain, a new aerodynamic body and an advanced electronics package.

Design & Styling

The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R features a sharp nose with a central ram-air duct, a bubble style racing windscreen, turn indicators the integrate with the mirrors, LED headlights use direct projection units from Mitsubishi, LED turn indicators, LED taillamps, two-up seating, clip-on style handlebars, updated rider’s triangle, an upswept exhaust, and a muscular fuel tank. The Lime Green colour comes with a green tank, front fender, and nose fairing along with black graphics, on the nose, side fairing and white parts on the belly as well as red accents. The Flat Ebony Type 2 features a black body colour along with green accents.

Aerodynamic Upgrades

The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R features an aerodynamic upper cowl, winglets integrated into the bodywork, and a new tail design. The rear seat is carefully designed to create a low-pressure area behind the rider and prevent air drag. Team Green riders Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes helped in the development of the Ninja ZX-10R and the brand claims that the aerostructures that integrate into the body create an additional 17% downforce when compared to the predecessor.

Powertrain

Powering the 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is a BS6 compliant 998cc in-line four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine with electronic fuel injection and comes with features such as Diamond-Like Carbon coated finger followers, Titanium intake and exhaust valves, lightweight Chromoly camshafts with a soft nitriding treatment, dry film lubricant on the piston skirts, larger coolant passages and other weight-saving and friction-reducing applications. The motor produces 203 PS of power (213 PS with Ram-air) and transmits the power to the ground via a 6-speed close-ratio transmission.

Mechanical Parts

The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R features an aluminium twin-spar frame with an aluminium swing-arm that rides on advanced Showa BFF (Balance Free Front Fork) on the front and a horizontal back-link rear suspension with Showa BFRC lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion) on the rear. The new motorcycle also features high-performance Brembo M50 monobloc callipers.

Electronics Package

The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R comes with 4.3-Inch TFT Instrumentation with Smartphone Connectivity via RIDEOLOGY THE APP, Integrated Riding Modes which includes – Sport, Road, Rain, Rider (customisable), Power Modes – Full, Middle & Low, Electronic Cruise Control, Sport-Kawasaki TRaction control, Kawasaki Launch Control Mode, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System, Ohlins Electronic Steering Damper and Kawasaki Quick Shifter.
