Kawasaki brings back the ZX-6R to life

Last month, there were reports that Kawasaki was considering bringing back the ZX-6R. Now, the Japanese bike maker has launched the motorcycle in the UK market. Further, the new ZX-6R now comes with some updates as well.

2023 Kawasaki ZX-6R : More Details

The new 2023 Kawasaki ZX-6R comes with a few cosmetic changes. These include an updated front fascia, redesigned LED headlamps amongst others. Overall, the bike looks similar to the Ninja range of bikes from Kawasaki.

To maintain the sporty stance of the motorcycle, Kawasaki ZX-6R comes with clip-on handlebars, and an aggressive bodywork. The driver information display has also received an update. The TFT display unit now supports Bluetooth technology. Riders will be able to see phone calls and SMS notifications apart from the usual navigation features on the display.

Hardware Updates on the 2023 Kawasaki ZX-6R

The ZX-6R comes equipped with Showa Upside-Down front forks along with a single mono shock. Meanwhile, the braking setup consists of dual 310mm front discs and a single 220mm rear disc. The bike gets dual channel ABS as well. Both the front and rear wheels are 17-inch alloys with 120/70-front and 180/55-rear Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 tyres.

The safety hardware has also been beefed up. The ZX-6R now comes with new ride modes – Rain, Road, Sport, and rider-adaptable. Then there is also the traction control and the ABS.

Powertrain of the 2023 Kawasaki ZX-6R

The new Kawasaki ZX-6R comes with a 636cc liquid cooled inline-four engine. This is a Euro 5 compliant unit that develops 128 BHP and 69 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a quickshifter. It is not yet known if it is a bi-directional quickshifter.

Pricing and availability of the 2023 Kawasaki ZX-6R

In the UK, the 2023 Kawasaki ZX-6R comes in at GBP 10,599. This translates to roughly INR 10.89 lakh. This price is pre-tax.
This middleweight bike could be a good option in the Indian market. It remains to be seen if and when Kawasaki launches the bike here.
