Jeep’s Avenger electric SUV claims 550 km range

Jeep has revealed the smaller SUV in their lineup at the 2022 4xe day. Now, the American carmaker has shared more details on the powertrain options for the all-electric SUV.

Jeep Avenger Motor and Battery Specs

Jeep will offer both two and four-wheel drive variants of the Avenger. They will come with either two or four electric motors, each rated at 154 HP and 260 NM. In terms of four-wheel drive capabilities, Jeep will offer Selec-Terrain off-road modes like Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud and Snow. The SUV will get an approach angle of 20 degrees, a departure angle of 32 degrees and a breakover angle of 20 degrees.

The Avenger EV will get a 54 kWh battery build by Stellantis. As per the WLTP cycle, this is sufficient for a range of 400 km. However, Jeep claims that this can be improved up to 550 km based on driving conditions. Using a 100 kW fast charger, a 20-80 per cent battery top-up can be done in just 24 minutes. The battery can recharge from 20-80 per cent in 24 minutes via a 100kW cable.

Jeep Avenger EV 4X4

The dual motor 4×4 variant is expected to get some additional goodies like a built-in flood light, a new light scratch-proof roof cargo, a new belt system, an anti-reflective bonnet sticker and an anti-scratch treatment.

Jeep Avenger EV production

The Avenger EV will be built at the Stellantis plant in Tychy, Poland. The model will also be sold in markets like Europe, Japan and South Korea. If launched in India, it is likely to be manufactured at the Ranjangaon plant near Pune.
