Jeep, part of Stellantis N.V., recently held the Jeep 4xe Day. The famous American SUV brand announced at the event that it will be launching 4 all-electric SUVs by the end of 2025. These four new e-SUVs will cater to the U.S. and European markets.

Jeep revealed 3 new SUVs at the event. One of which will join the Wrangler as its all-electric counterpart in 2024. The brand calls it the Recon, and it draws inspiration heavily from the Wrangler. The Jeep Recon will be available to order from early 2023, and production will commence in 2024. The Jeep Recon will be available in North America as well as Europe.

Jeep Recon Electric SUV – Highlights

The Jeep Recon will use Stellantis’ STLA electric vehicle platform and offer similar off-road capabilities to the Jeep Wrangler. It will be a genuine trail machine and will also offer removable doors and exposed hinges. The American brand did reveal it built the Recon from the ground up to be a 4×4.

Jeep specified it is not merely a regular passenger EV made to look like a Wrangler. The company’s CEO also says it will have the capability to cross the Rubicon Trail, which is one of the most difficult off-road trails in the U.S. Furthermore, he also added that it can complete the trail and have enough range to drive back to town and recharge.

Being an off-road-focused Jeep, it will get all the trail-friendly equipment. This will include the Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management system, stout underbody protection and e-locker axle technology. The Recon will also feature tow hooks, a one-touch power roof and aggressive off-road tyres. On the inside, it will get the latest generation of Jeep’s Connect infotainment system. The infotainment system will also include detailed travel guides of popular overland trails, including the Rubicon Trail.

Jeep did not specify any technical details for the Recon. However, the other electric SUV the brand revealed, the Wagoneer S, comes uses the same STLA platform. The Wagoneer S will have a 608 PS of powertrain and do 0 to 92 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. If the Recon uses the same powertrain, expect it to be slower owing to its large off-road tyres. The Wagoneer S will be able to do 644 km on a single charge. However, Jeep did not specify the battery pack capacity.
