Jeep Meridian facelift will be launched with ADAS

Written by News Team

The Jeep Meridian is set to receive a mid-cycle update later this year. The facelifted version of the Meridian has been spotted testing on Indian roads, revealing some key details about the upcoming changes.

Exterior Updates

The exterior of the Meridian facelift is expected to retain its current structure with minimal changes. The distinguishing factors include a slightly tweaked grille, revised LED headlamps and DRLs, and a redesigned front bumper with silver elements. The most significant update, however, is including a radar module mounted on the bumper, hinting at the introduction of the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Interior Updates

The interior of the facelifted Meridian is expected to remain largely unchanged. It will continue to feature a free-standing infotainment system, digital driver’s display, multi-functional steering wheel, and a raised centre console3. However, the new Meridian is likely to get a new cabin theme with redesigned upholstery, a tweaked aircon panel, and a few more features such as a dash camera and rear window blinds.

Powertrain

The Meridian facelift will continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that puts out 170 hp and 350 Nm. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed torque converter automatic. A 4WD system will also be available with select variants.

ADAS Suite

The inclusion of the ADAS suite is a significant update for the Meridian. The ADAS radar module within the central air intake suggests that the Meridian facelift will come equipped with this advanced safety tech. The ADAS suite is expected to be of Level 2, which includes features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking.

Pricing and Rivals

The current Jeep Meridian is priced between INR 33.60 lakh-39.66 lakh (ex-showroom3. The facelift is expected to result in a slight price increment owing to the inclusion of ADAS tech. The Meridian competes with the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan in the Indian market.
