Written by Nizam Shaikh

Amidst COVID-19 lockdown social distancing and contactless policies are being followed by all vehicle manufacturers and new online sales platform have also been developed to boost sales. American SUV manufacturer, Jeep has also launched its online sales platform called ‘Touch-Free’ which is part of Jeep’s Book My Jeep digital vehicle booking facility.

By visiting the official ‘Book My Jeep’ online sale portal, interested buyers can register themselves by following a few easy steps and book the Jeep of their choice from the safety and comfort of their homes. The web portal also allows interested buyers to interact with a salesperson in a safe and contactless manner. The cars can also be viewed in 360-degrees using the intuitive user interface and the colour options as well as features and technical specifications can be seen online through the website. Customers can then choose to make booking payments via various common digital payment methods and a unique identification number for the customer is generated.

The customers can choose from the list of dealerships and are then contacted via video call or voice call. Before finalising the amount the customer can also choose to take a test drive of the vehicle which is arranged at the safety of the buyer’s home. Jeep takes special care by sanitising the test-drive vehicles and the drivers use hand gloves and other protective equipment according to new safety standards and daily health check-ups are performed at the dealerships to ensure customer as well as employee safety.

Jeep sell the Compass, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee and the Grand Cherokee SRT in its product portfolio in India. Jeep has currently suspended most of its operations due to the Corona Virus outbreak and will be restarting operations as soon as things on the health front normalise and the lockdown is lifted.
