Jawa bikes gets powerful engine, revised chassis and retuned suspension

During the COVID-19 induced lockdown when manufacturing had taken a slump, boffins at Classic Legends were busy tuning the Jawa engine. Classic Legends revived the defunct Jawa brand, which offers the modern classic taste to its motorcycles and gets a modern-day liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. The motorcycle also comes with modern suspension, chassis and brakes, completing the package.

Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty Two – Engine Specifications

Powering the Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty Two is a 293cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The engine comes with electronic fuel injection and cross-port technology. The brand claims that the modern engine is the first single-cylinder motor to utilize cross-port technology. The motor produces linear performance across the entire rev range in addition to the punchier mid revs.

Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty Two – Retuned Components

The single-cylinder engine now makes 27.33 PS of power but a slightly reduced torque of 27.02 Nm. Earlier the engine used to produce 26.46 PS of power and 27.05 Nm of torque. The brand has not just worked on the engine but also tuned the chassis and the suspension on the latest model. The engine still uses the same 6-speed transmission, and the wheel & tyre size remains the same. But to make things more comfortable in the saddle, the brand has also reworked the seat of the Jawa motorcycles.

Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty Two – Price Hike

All the changes have resulted in a price hike of approximately INR 1,200 on the ex-showroom price. The Jawa Classic is now priced at INR 1,77,351 ex-showroom, Delhi for the single-channel ABS version and INR 1,86,293 for dual-channel ABS. The Jawa Forty Two comes with a starting price tag of INR 1,64,487 ex-showroom, Delhi for the single-channel ABS version and INR 1,73,429 for the dual-channel ABS.

Recently, Jawa also launched the Jawa Khakhi & Midnight Grey colours paying tribute to the 1971 war victory. The special edition motorcycles come with a price tag of INR 1,93,357 ex-showroom, Delhi.

Jawa Perak, Jawa 42 – Price Hike

The Jawa Perak has witnessed a price hike of INR 8,700 on the ex-showroom price. This results in a new price of INR 2.06 lakh ex-showroom. The alloy-wheel equipped Jawa 42 is now available in only the dual-channel ABS at the price of INR 1.91 lakh ex-showroom which is INR 7,000 more than before.
