Written by Kanad Kalasur

Jawa has launched a new variant of the 42 Bobber. The new variant is dubbed as the Black Mirror and is priced at INR 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the other colour options, the 42 Bobber Black Mirror is priced at a premium of INR 10,000-12,000.

What’s new in the Jawa 42 Bobber Black Mirror?

In terms of looks, this new Black Mirror edition looks very eye-catching. In images, we can see it stands out from the others. Jawa has used a chrome-finished fuel tank along with a contrast all-black theme. Another change is the new alloy wheels. Compared to the wire-spoke rims, these offer tubeless tyre practicality.

The bike is also offered in Mystic Copper, Moonstone White and Jasper Red.

The new 42 Bobber is full of flair. The 42 Bobber stays true to the bobber essentials – minimalist bodywork, chopped fenders, fat tyres and a low seat. But additionally, the 42 Bobber also tops it all off with a dash of colour. Jawa says the 42 Bobber is not a design and styling exercise; it also gets a host of ergonomic and tech enhancements.

The bike gets features like two-step adjustable seat and dual-channel ABS as standard.

Powertrain of the Jawa 42 Bobber Black Mirror

Like the other 42 Bobber models, the Black Mirror uses the same powertrain. This means, the same 334cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine powers the Jawa 42 Bobber Black Mirror. The specs on this motor read as 29 BHP and 32.7 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. This unit gets an assist and slipper clutch.

Recently, Jawa updated some of the components of the bike. These include the larger 38mm throttle bodies (compared to earlier 33mm), updated engine maps, revised gear and engine covers. The idling rpm has also gone down to 1,300 rpm than the earlier 1,500 rpm.
