Along with BS6 compliant engines, Jaguar has launched the facelift avatar of their XE sedan which is the most affordable offering by Jaguar Land Rover in India. This same model rivals the likes of BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4 and has been priced at INR 44.98 lakh for the XS S in P250 & P180 engines and the XS SE costs INR 46.32 lakh for the P250 and INR 46.32 lakh for the P180.
Powering the Jaguar XE are the same engines as before, but they are now BS6 compliant. The 2.0L, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol motor produces 250 HP of power and 365 Nm of torque. The 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor belts 180 HP of power and 430 Nm of torque. Both engines are matched to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It gets the SportShift selector and not the typical rotary knob of Jaguar Land Rover cars.
Cosmetic changes to the Jaguar XE includes the new sleeker LED headlamps, new front and rear bumper designs, new alloy wheels, new LED tail lamps, new front fender applique and a diffuser effect. Inside, the Jaguar XE now comes with a full digital instrument cluster for the top model, bigger touchscreen infotainment, touchscreen climate control panel with seat controls, updated steering wheel, new upholstery, soft touch materials, wireless charging, air quality sensor, smart settings with artificial intelligence for the driver seat + mirrors + audio + air conditioning, etc.
The Jaguar XE is a lot of fun to drive. With the Ingenium engines and built around a light aluminum chassis, the XE feels sharper than any other Jaguar model. Of course, the F-Type is sharper. The XE is also a rear-wheel drive model which will appeal further to the driving enthusiast compared to rivals. This British luxury sedan rides on a double wishbone front suspension and an integral link type rear suspension.
The Jaguar XE now does not have the base model on sale.
