Written by Nizam Shaikh

Jaguar Land Rover will launch the 2021 Jaguar i-Pace in the Indian market on the 9th March 2021. The i-Pace will be introduced in India through a digital presentation amidst COVID-19 pandemic. The immersive digital launch event will be open for media, customers and enthusiasts. Furthermore, customers can book the Jaguar i-Pace at the brand’s official digital sales website as well as dealerships.

i-Pace Arrival in India

Recently, the first Jaguar i-Pace landed at the JNPT (Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust) Mumbai, which was revealed in pictures and is said to be undergoing extensive testing for the Indian road and climate. The Jaguar i-Pace electric vehicle will be offered in three variant options S, SE and HSE. The first i-Pace to arrive in India is in the top-of-the-line HSE variant, finished in the Firenze Red exterior paint theme.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the Jaguar i-Pace is powered by two electric motors that deliver a combined power of 400 PS and belts out 696 Nm of torque on demand. The electric motors are coupled to a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is expected to provide a range of 470 km on the WLTP cycle. The electric motors are also capable of propelling the EV from 0-100 kmph in just 4.8 seconds.

Charging

The 100% electric SUV can be charged overnight using an onboard 11kW charger, but the i-Pace is also capable of charging at a DC fast charger. Jaguar has also tied up with Tata Power to provide integrated charging solutions for the Jaguar Land Rover’s electrified range of vehicles. The brand will be reducing the battery range anxiety further by providing installing charging solutions at Jaguar Land Rover’s 27 outlets in 24 cities and at customers home and office.

Awards

The Jaguar I-Pace has also won several awards including the 2019 World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, and World Green car awards under its belt.
