Jaguar could have discontinued the all-electric I-Pace from the Indian market. The brand’s official website does not have the I-Pace anymore in its listing. Even the F-Type appears to have been delisted from the official website. The only Jaguar car that appears to be on the Indian website is the F-Pace. The price listing for Jaguar cars in India also lists only the F-Pace and not the I-Pace nor the F-Type. This could mean that the brand might have stopped accepting bookings for the I-Pace as well as the F-Type and the cars could have been discontinued in India. However, it is important to note that the brand has not yet officially announced about the discontinuation of their models in India.
Jaguar I-Pace in India
Powering the Jaguar I-Pace was a dual electric motor setup with combined output of 400 Hp and 696 Nm of torque. The all-electric I-Pace also claimed a range of around 410 km on a single charge with city and highway combined. However, the close to INR 1 crore did not make it to many families and hence in its three year run in India, the EV was not updated. And with competition such as the BMW iX, the Mercedes-Benz EQC and Audi e-Tron the I-Pace did not even do triple digit sales figures. On the other hand, BMW sold more than 700 units of the iX, during the same period.
Did Competition Kill It?
Currently, it appears that Jaguar is only retailing the F-Pace SUV in the Indian market. With prices starting at INR 72.90 lakh ex-showroom, the Jaguar F-Pace is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The SUV is only available in the R Dynamic S trim in the Indian market. We hope that in the near future, Jaguar will be bringing back the I-Pace as well as the F-Type back to India.
