The wait is finally over, Volvo Car India has officially commenced the delivery of its full electric XC40 Recharge in the country. The first car was delivered recently in Gujarat. XC40 Recharge is Volvo’s first locally assembled luxury electric SUV. The company is assembling the cars in their facility based in Bangalore, Karnataka.
This is a great milestone for Volvo as it starts a new inning in the country. To have the first of the India-assembled pure electric XC40 Recharge luxury SUV delivered lays the foundation stone for many more to come. This delivery is historic as marks the beginning of Volvo’s journey towards becoming an all-electric car company by 2030. Furthermore, Volvo also showcased its ambitious Online Direct Sales model with the sale of this first XC40.
Volvo XC40 Is A Hot Topic In The EV Space
The response to the XC40 Recharge has been quite overwhelming with 150 car orders received online. And this is just within 2 hours of opening bookings. As of now, Volvo has confirmed that they have close to 500 advance orders with them. The target is to deliver around 100 of them before the year-end. The rest of the customers will most likely get their cars during the next year.
The XC40 Recharge arrived in India on July 26th this year. Currently, the electric SUV retails at an ex-showroom price of INR 55.90 lakh ex-showroom. The XC40 Recharge comes with a claimed mileage of up to 418 kilometers. This is for a single charge as per WLTP. Volvo confirmed all XC40 Recharge owners will also get 2-year membership of the exclusive Tre Kronor program. This Tre Kronor membership offers benefits and services designed especially for Volvo XC40 Recharge car owners, keeping their satisfaction and comfort in mind.
Volvo India’s Dealership Network
Volvo currently markets its products through 25 dealerships. This includes cities namely, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR – South Delhi, West Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Raipur, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, West Mumbai, South Mumbai, Pune, Raipur, Surat, Visakhapatnam, and Vijayawada.
