India’s 1st anti-clockwise racetrack coming soon

Coimbatore is set to get its second race circuit – The COASTT High-Performance Centre. The new race track will become India’s first anti-clockwise circuit. The racetrack is currently under development, and the foundation stone has been recently laid down. However, reports suggest that the new racetrack will be up and ready by March 2022.

COASTT High-Performance Circuit

Sources report that the team working on building the race track has also worked on the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT), the Dubai Aerodrome and the new Miami F1 circuit. At 3.8 km, COASTT High-Performance Circuit will be one of the longest permanent racetracks in the country. The COASTT HPC will also act as the test base for Mumbai Falcons. The team will be carrying out their racing development, driver training program and vehicle testing. 

Other Race Tracks in India

When operational, COASTT HPC will become the country’s third permanent race track approved by the FIA. India currently has three major race tracks – Madras Motor Race Track (Chennai), Kari Motor Speedway (Coimbatore) and Buddh International Circuit (Greater Noida, Delhi). Recently we also reported that a new racetrack is coming up, which is likely to be one of the longest race tracks in the world.

Known as Racetrack. One, the race circuit will be built in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. The company responsible for building the race track is Marque One Motorsport Club. The company will also start a members-only club called Club.One as well as a boutique hotel called Hospitality.One. Along with a 5.5-kilometre race track Marque One Motorsport will also build an 800-metre drag strip.

Marque One is also planning for FIA Grade 2 certification and a Grade B license from the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme). In addition to this, the company also plans to upgrade the circuit to Grade 1 certification in the future. The race circuit will also be equipped with international levels safety features such as F1 level electronics, race barriers, vehicle sand traps and race-grade run-off areas. The track will also have the capability to manage vehicle that even exceeds 230 kmph.
