Indian Motorcycles introduce new Scout Bobber Sixty

Written by Nizam Shaikh

American two-wheeler brand, Indian Motorcycles have introduced the 2020 Indian Scout Bobber Sixty at the price starting at USD 8,999 with deliveries to commence soon. The Indian Scout Bobber Sixty is virtually a scaled-down version of the Indian Scout Bobber. The Scout Bobber Sixty matches its styling with the Scout Bobber except for a few subtle changes that distinguish between the two motorcycles.

The two motorcycles differentiate between themselves by their exterior dimensions. The Indian Scout Bobber is 2274mm in its overall length while the Scout Bobber Sixty is 2223mm in length. The height, width and the wheelbase on both the motorcycles remain the same, measured in at 1053mm, 926mm and 1576mm respectively.

In terms of the styling, the new Bobber Sixty features a naked headlight unit instead of the shroud enclosed headlamp seen on the Scout Bobber. Other styling changes include an all-black machine-finished accent on the engine, minus the chrome accents found on the Scout Bobber.

The Scout Bobber Sixty also comes with conventionally mounted handlebar mirrors instead of the bar-end mounted mirrors on its larger capacity sibling. Other features such as the tear-drop tank, split crossover-type dual exhaust units, analogue-digital instrumentation, LED taillights integrated with turn indicator lamps and chopped-off front & rear fenders continue to be on both the motorcycles.

The major differentiator for the Scout Bobber and the Scout Bobber Sixty is the powertrain. The Scout Bobber is powered by a 1133cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine that is capable of producing 100 hp of power and 97 Nm of torque coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. On the other hand, the new Scout Bobber Sixty is powered by a 1000cc liquid-cooled V-Twin motor that generates 78 hp of power and 88 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed transmission.

In terms of the mechanical hardware, both motorcycles feature a conventional telescopic front fork and twin shock absorbers on the rear. Braking power on both the machines comes from single 298mm rotors on both ends with a hydraulically operated two-piston calliper on the front and a single-piston calliper on the rear equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).

The Indian Scout Bobber Sixty is highly customisable with 140 accessory options and comes in two colour options – Glossy Black and Matte Black. In the United States, the Indian Scout Bobber Sixty is priced starting at USD 8,999 which is INR 6,66,139 (Approximated values calculated at mid-market rates, for reference only).
