India-built Nissan Magnite exported to 15 Global Markets

Japanese automotive manufacturer Nissan has announced the expansion of its export markets for its highly successful Magnite compact-SUV. By utilizing its “Make in India, Make for the World” philosophy, Nissan India exported the Magnite to 15 Global Markets. Launched in India in December 2020, Nissan produces the compact SUV at its Chennai plant in Tamil Nadu. The Magnite costs INR 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom) and sports 5 monotone colours along with three dual-tone colours.

Export Markets, Sales & Achievements

Overall, Nissan has managed to achieve 78,000 cumulative customer bookings for its Magnite in India and exported 6,344 units. The brand launched the India-made Magnite in South Africa and Indonesia during 2021, along with other key global markets. These include countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Uganda, Kenya, Seychelles, Mozambique, Zambia, Mauritius, Tanzania, and Malawi. The automaker launched the Magnite under its ‘Nissan NEXT’ transformation plan that included re-routing its focus on high-demand products.

By launching more than 42,000 Magnite’s via its Chennai factory, Nissan aims to deliver lasting value for its customers. Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the global shortage of semiconductor chips, the company achieved the Global President’s Award. Nissan India has also won a number of high-profile automotive awards from various automotive publication houses across the country. The Magnite has also been named The Race Monkey Car of the Year 2021, denoting its overall success in India.

2022 Nissan Magnite: Detailed Highlights

Measuring 3994mm in length, 1758mm in width, and 1572mm in height, the Magnite sports an overall wheelbase of 2500mm. Additionally, the compact-SUV sports a ground clearance of 205mm, a 336-litre boot, and a unique, eye-catching exterior design. Some of the details include the LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, bumper-mounted fog lamps, and stylish LED taillamps. Along with 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, Nissan also offers the Magnite with dual-tone colours and a contrasting roof.

Nissan offers the Magnite with 2 petrol engine options and 2 gearbox options on the top-spec trim of the SUV. First is the 1.0-liter three-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that develops 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. The automaker offers this engine with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed Easy-R AMT gearbox option. Meanwhile, the second is the 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo-petrol motor producing 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. This engine comes with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed X-TRONIC CVT automatic gearbox option.
