Just a few days back, Hyundai announced that all its cars would have 6 airbags as standard in India. The move came close in the lines of the new Hyundai Verna securing a 5-star rating at the Global NCAP. Now, the company has revealed it plans to add active safety technologies like Bluelink and ADAS features across its range of cars by 2025.
Hyundai’s roadmap to standard safety features
Already, Hyundai is offering six airbags as standard. Features like ESC, VSM and Hill-start assist are next in line to be standardised across the range. And lastly, the ADAS suite would be offered on all the models. Hyundai says that such safety features have been very effective in preventing accidents.
At present, Hyundai has 5 models with ADAS features in India. By 2024, the Korean carmaker plans to offer 60 percent of its portfolio with standard ADAS. With the Venue, Hyundai became the first OEM to offer ADAS tech on a sub-4m SUV.
Back in 2019, Hynudai had introduced Bluelink connected car feature. Under this, the car owner could benefit from safety measures likes vehicle tracking, immobilisation, geo-fencing, SOS, emergency assistance and more. Today, Hyundai is offering Bluelink across 80 percent of its model range. The company is aiming to offer it across all its offering in the near future.
