Hyundai Verna SX+ variant details

The newly introduced SX+ variant is available at Rs 13.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual and Rs 15.04 lakh (ex-showroom) for the IVT automatic gearbox options.

It has been positioned above the SX+ variant, and it carries over a few features from the top-spec SX(O) trim.

The new exterior features on the SX+ Verna include the 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a boot-integrated spoiler, and LED headlamps.

Meanwhile, its cabin is equipped with an 8-speaker BOSE music system, heated and ventilated front seats, and leather upholstery. These features have been carried over from the top variant.

Powering the new SX+ trim is the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which makes 115 bhp and 143.8 Nm of peak power and torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual or an IVT automatic transmission.

New wireless adapter launched

Additionally, Hyundai has also introduced a new wired-to-wireless adapter for select variants of the Verna. The SX (O), SX Turbo, and SX (O) Turbo variants are now compatible with the new optional adapter.

The adapter turns the wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay into a wireless connection by getting plugged into a USB port. The cost of this adapter is Rs 4,500.

Meanwhile, the wireless adapter is also compatible with other Hyundai cars, including Grand i10 Nios, Aura, Exter, Venue, and Alcazar.

Our verdict

The new Hyundai Verna is a strong contender in its segment. However, the continuously dying sales of sedans in India have led to dismal sales of Verna. The new SX+ trim is suited for buyers who want a fully loaded C-segment sedan under a budget of Rs 15 lakh.
