Hyundai Venue gets 2 new variants, 5 variants deleted

Hyundai is planning to streamline the Venue variant portfolio in the Indian market. According to leaked documents, the brand will delete five variants from the line-up. Reportedly, the brand is also replacing the alloy wheels from the SX trim and replacing them with styled steel wheels. The measures appear to bring production costs down to match the competition and not let the vehicle go through a price hike.

Hyundai Venue – Deleted/Added Variants

According to sources, Hyundai will be deleting the SX(O) 1.2-litre Petrol 6MT, the S 1.0-litre Turbo-Petrol in both 7DCT and iMT, as well as the 1.5-litre Diesel MT. The brand will also delete the E 1.5-litre Diesel MT from the line-up. But two new trims have also been added to the portfolio. These are S(O) which comes with 1.0-litre turbo-petrol in both 7DCT and iMT and 1.5-litre Diesel MT. Also adding to the trim line is a new SX(O) Exec trim in the 1.5-litre Diesel MT avatar. Reports also suggest that the Bluelink Connected Car System also receives some enhancements.

Hyundai Venue – Engine Options & Specifications

Powering the Hyundai Venue are three engine options and four gearbox options. Engine options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine, 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.2-litre petrol engine comes with 83 PS of power and 113.7 Nm of torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine makes 120 PS of power and 171.6 Nm of torque. In the turbo-petrol avatar, the Venue comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission and an intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT Clutchless). The third option is a 1.5-litre diesel engine which makes 100 PS of power and 240 Nm of torque. This engine comes with only a 6-speed manual transmission option.

Hyundai Venue – Top Features

Depending on the variant, the Hyundai Venue comes with features such as automatic climate control, air purification system, cooled glove box, power windows, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, push-button start/stop, electric sunroof and connected car technology. The brand also offers safety features such as multiple airbags, ABS+EBD, central locks, TPMS, rear parking camera etc.
