Hyundai’s Venue compact-SUV is a global product. This product which is sold as a sub-4 metre SUV in India is popular worldwide and ANCAP has granted a 4-star crash test safety rating for the Venue. The crash test was performed in Australia on the Venue variants which came with features such as dual-front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, emergency lane keeping, etc. Now, it is to be noted that some of these features are not on offer on the India-spec Hyundai Venue compact-SUV.
The Hyundai Venue scored 91% in adult occupant safety. It got a total of 34.8 / 38 rating in this department. In child occupant safety, the Venue scored 81% with 40 / 49. For vulnerable road user protection, this SUV scored 62% with 29/8 / 48. In safety assistance, it go 62% again with 8.1 / 13.
During frontal offset crash, the passenger cabin of the Hyundai Venue was reported to stay stable and provide adequate protection to occupants. In full width frontal crash, the protection for all occupants was again rated as adequate. For side impact, the Venue delivered good safety, and during the oblique pole crash test the SUV offered adequate protection for the chest and good for all other body parts. For child safety in frontal offset crash test with a the 10 year dummy, the car received a poor rating for neck tension while protection for a 6 year dummy was rated adequate. Protection was claimed to be good for other body parts of both child dummies. Side impact rating for both dummies was rated good for all body areas for children.
