Hyundai sold 66,701 cars in July 2023

Hyundai reported positive sales growth in July 2023. The carmaker posted a year-on-year (YoY) and month-on-month (MoM) increase. The company’s lineup includes a wide range of options. This includes the likes of, the Grand i10 Nios, i20, i20 N-Line, Aura, Exter, Venue, Venue N-Line, Verna, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, Kona Electric, and IONIQ 5. The increase in sales comes courtesy of improved exports and timely semiconductor supplies. Thus setting the stage for the upcoming festive season, starting with the Onam festival in Kerala on August 20, 2023.

Growth In Both Domestic As Well As Exports Markets

Hyundai’s sales data for July 2023 indicates growth both in domestic sales and exports. The domestic sales figure stood at 50,701 units, marking a 0.40 per cent YoY increase from July 2022’s 50,500 units. Month-on-month sales also grew by 1.40 per cent compared to June 2023’s 50,001 units. Notably, Hyundai also witnessed even greater growth in exports, shipping 16,000 units in July 2023, a substantial 19.84 per cent YoY increase from June 2022’s 13,351 units. Thus reflecting a remarkable uptick of 2,649 units. Consequently, Hyundai’s total sales, combining domestic and exports, stood at 66,701 units in July 2023, indicating a 4.46 per cent growth from July 2022’s 63,851 units. This signifies a volume increase of 2,850 units.

The Hyundai Creta continues as the sales leader, while the new Exter, Venue, and Verna also significantly contributed to the increased sales figures. The company has recently trademarked adventure editions of Creta and Alcazar. These limited-number models are expected to feature Ranger Khaki exteriors and other off-road-oriented elements.

Hyundai Exter Brings In A New Vibe

July 2023 saw the launch of Hyundai’s new Exter 5-seater SUV. This is available in variants including EX, S, SX, SX (O), and SX (O) Connect. The Exter boasts innovative features and segment-first offerings such as a voice-enabled Smart Electric Sunroof and a Dashcam with Dual Camera functionality. Safety is a focal point with 26 standard safety features and 40 advanced safety features. Powertrain options for the Exter include a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission or Smart Auto AMT, as well as a 1.2-litre bi-fuel Kappa petrol engine with CNG option paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
