Since Hyundai entered the automotive industry, it’s claimed to be India’s first smart mobility solution provider and the No. 1 car exporter. For 2023, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has recorded domestic sales of 49,701 units and export sales of 8,500 units which totalled 58,201 units cumulatively for the month of April.
HMIL has also doubled its volumes for the production of Hyundai Verna which was recently launched in the Indian market. The previous year’s sales for Hyundai in April ‘22 were 44,001. For the present year, we see growth in domestic sales by 12.9%. When we discuss exports, Hyundai sold 12,200 cars. In the present year, we see a decrease in exports by 30.3%.
Hyundai at present, has 1,340 sales points and 1,502 service points in India. Their model line-up consists of 12 cars across segments. Hyundai sells cars like Aura, Venue, Venue N-Line, Verna, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson, Kona Electric and the all-new SUV Ioniq 5. HCIL’s Manufacturing plant is located in Chennai and it exports its products to about 85 countries.
The All-New Hyundai Verna
The all-new Hyundai Verna is now revised and upgraded with better technological advancements, space, fuel efficiency and mileage as compared to the previous model of the same. Hyundai is now all set to enter the market with its all-new Hyundai Verna and expects to see growth for the year 2023-2024.
What’s new?
Hyundai Verna is the first car in its segment to be launched with connected DRL headlights and tail lamps. Again, the first in its segment to have a switchable infotainment and climate control console. The all-new Hyundai Verna uses a smart automated sensing technology called ADAS. Verna responds to obstacles or unintentional lane changes through the usage of radars, sensors and cameras.
This Level-2 ADAS helps Verna to avoid blind-spot collisions, and forward collisions with a car, cycle or pedestrian. It is also equipped with High Beam Assist (HBA), Lane following assist (LFA), Lane-keeping Assist (LKA), Safe Exit Warning (SEW), Rear Cross- Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and lastly Forward Collision- Avoidance assist- Junction Turning (FCA-JT).
Engine Specifications
The all-new Hyundai Verna now comes with a 1.5L turbo petrol engine that produces 117.5kW power with a torque of 253 Nm at 1500-3500rpm. The 1.5 turbo petrol engine comes with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. On the other hand, the 1.5L MPi petrol engine comes with a max power of 84.4kW that produces a torque of 143.8 Nm at 4500 rpm. Comes with a 6-speed manual and an intelligent variable transmission.
