Hyundai sold 53,427 cars in India in January 2022

Hyundai Motors India Limited releases its sales report for January 2021. The carmaker registered a total sale of 53,427 units for the given period. This includes domestic sales of 44,022 units and export of 9,405 units. The figure for January 2021 stood at 60,105 units, thus resulting in negative growth of 11.11 per cent. Meanwhile, the figure for domestic sales and exports stood at 52,005 units and 8,100 units respectively. And hence this translates to a growth of negative 15.35 per cent and 16.10 per cent for domestic and export sales respectively. HMIL also highlighted the issue of sporadic semiconductor supply.

Hyundai’s Current Lineup Of Products

Being one of India’s older car manufacturers, Hyundai India does account for a significant sales volume. With a wide portfolio of 12 car models, customers will find a Hyundai in almost every possible segment. The current lineup includes Santro, Grand i10 Nios, All-new i20, i20 N Line, Aura, Venue, Verna, All-New Creta, Alcazar, Elantra, Tucson and Kona Electric.

Hyundai’s manufacturing plant in Chennai is the production center for all its cars in India and the world. HMIL’s other important aspect that adds value significantly is its export chain. Being HMC, one of the critical production houses, HMIL exports products to over 85 countries. This includes countries in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Australia, and the Asia Pacific.

For the domestic market, HMIL has a total of 544 dealers and a wide network of over service 1355 points. Furthermore, this is also increasing at a rapid pace, as Hyundai looks to enhance its market share and give a tough fight to Tata Motors for the 2nd most sold car maker in the title. Maruti Suzuki remains the undisputed King in the Indian car industry in terms of the number of units sold. Hyundai India has some major developments happening in the electric segment, as India, along with the world, enters the new automotive revolution.
