Hyundai is set to expand its premium SUV lineup in India with the introduction of the Palisade Hybrid, expected to launch by 2028. The move is part of Hyundai’s aggressive product strategy, which includes 26 new models by 2030, covering ICE, hybrid, and electric segments.
Powertrain and performance
The Palisade Hybrid will feature a 2.5L turbo-petrol engine, paired with an electric motor, producing 334 hp and 460 Nm of torque. Hyundai claims the hybrid setup will offer:
- 45% better fuel efficiency compared to a standard petrol engine.
- A driving range of 1,015 km, making it ideal for long-distance travel.
- Three drive modes—Eco, Sport, and My Drive, along with terrain modes for Mud, Snow, and Sand.
The hybrid system will enhance ride quality, featuring e-Comfort Drive, which minimizes vertical movement over bumps, and e-Dynamic Drive, which improves handling through torque vectoring.
Design and features
The Palisade Hybrid will sport a bold, boxy design, featuring:
- Vertically slatted LED headlights and tail lamps.
- A wide grille with silver accents on body cladding, D-pillars, and roof rails.
- 21-inch alloy wheels, adding to its premium stance.
Inside, the SUV will offer:
- A three-row layout, accommodating up to eight occupants.
- Second-row captain seats with deployable footrests.
- A dual-screen setup with a 12.3-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display.
- ADAS suite, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, and a 14-speaker Bose sound system.
Market position and expected pricing
Hyundai aims to position the Palisade Hybrid against the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian. The SUV is expected to be priced around INR 50 lakh, making it one of Hyundai’s most premium offerings in India.
