Hyundai ‘Made in India’ SUVs cross 1 million milestone

Hyundai Motors, the country’s second-largest car manufacturer and first in terms of export volume, is now claiming to be the ‘No.1 SUV Maker’. The company announced that it sold a cumulative 1 Million SUVs in the domestic and export market lead by the sales of Venue, Creta, Tucson and Kona Electric. Creta which was launched in 2015, is currently the country’s highest-selling SUV and regularly finds itself in the top-10 car sold in a month list. Since, the past few years, there is a sudden increase in the demand for SUVs in the Indian market, in fact, this statement stands true for the international market as well. This is also evident from the fact that most of the companies which are launching new products are of the SUV body types. Even, the luxury car brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley and the likes are following the same trend.

Hyundai Creta – The Top Selling SUV In The Market

Creta has always been a top-selling product ever since its launch in the Indian market. Hyundai made major additions and updates to the Creta in 2020 and made it even more appealing to the customers with multiple engines and gearbox options. From the outside, the design is quite polarising, it is either a love it or hate it but, from the inside, it’s all positive. Hyundai, which has a high reputation of offering all the latest kit does prove it with the 2020 Creta as well.

The SUV gets all the latest features which include, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, 6 airbags, all four disc brakes, different driving modes and more. In terms of mechanicals, Creta has 3 engine options, a 115 HP, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 115 HP, 1.5-litre diesel motor and the flagship 140 HP rated 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. There are four gearbox options, a 6-speed manual, a CVT which Hyundai likes to call IVT, a DCT and a Torque Converter Automatic. The ex-showroom price for Creta starts at INR 9.99 lakh for base E trim and goes all the way up to INR 17.53 lakh for the fully-loaded SX (O).
