Hyundai Ioniq 5 launched in India at INR 44.95 lakh

Hyundai Motor India Limited has launched the Ioniq 5 in the Indian market at the price starting INR 44,95,000 ex-showroom, India. For the uninitiated, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is an all-electric vehicle based on the brand’s E-GMP architecture. The dedicated platform has been developed for Hyundai group’s BEV Models and is in line with Hyundai’s Global Vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’.

How to Book Hyundai Ioniq 5 in India?

Hyundai opened bookings for the Ioniq 5 in India on December 20, 2022. The brand set the booking price at INR 1,00,000 via Hyundai’s official website. Hyundai also boasts that the Ioniq 5 has won several accolades including the 2022 World Car of the Year award, World Electric Car of the Year award and World Design of the Year.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 – Design and Features

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 features a confident stance thanks to its innovative design. The Ioniq 5 comes with features such as unique parametric pixel LED headlamps, rear taillamp and daytime running lights. The car also comes with active air flaps that improve the Ioniq 5’s aerodynamic efficiency adding to its range. On the side, the Ioniq 5 features auto flush door handles and 20-inch parametric design alloy wheels.

On the inside, the EV features a minimalistic design with a spacious multilayered dashboard and twin displays. The brand also reveals that the Ioniq 5 uses sustainable and eco-friendly materials on the interiors such as flax seed oil used to dye the eco-processed leather seat upholstery. The Ioniq 5 also uses Bio Paint for the steering wheel, switches, crash pads, and door panels.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 – Technical Specifications

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 comes with high-speed charging allowing the car to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes on a 350kW DC fast charger. The brand also claims that the Ioniq 5 comes with the highest ground clearance of 163mm. The EV also gets an ARAI-claimed range of 631 km per charge. The EV is capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 7.6 seconds, thanks to the 217 PS/350 Nm electric motor.
