Hyundai Insteroid – What is it?
Ahead of the Seoul Mobility Show 2025, Hyundai has unveiled the Insteroid concept EV model. It is a race car that is suspended over the Inster EV, which went into production last year.
The Insteroid name has been derived from the ‘Inster’ and ‘steroids’, making it an Inster EV on steroids.
Taking inspiration from the gaming world, the Insteroid features a lot of customization options. It mimics the race car model with its aggressive and low stance that features a racing kit on the outside.
At the front, it gets a race-style wide bumper with a diffuser and big aero dams near the wheels to increase its agility and performance.
Moreover, the side profile is loaded with lightweight racing wheels and track-specific rubber along with a body kit that helps in increasing the stability of the car at high speeds.
The rear profile of the concept car features a big wing that has been fitted to provide downforce for better grip around the corners.
On the inside, it features a race-inspired cabin design with racing seats, a roll cage, and a dedicated cluster for the driver installed to give it the proper outlook of an electric racing car.
It also gets a Beat House sound system and Message Grid that the driver can use to customise the car as per their preference.
As of now, Hyundai has not revealed its battery and electric motor configuration or specification details. However, it does have a Drift Mode which has been specifically integrated for a fun driving experience.
The Insteroid concept car will be showcased from April 3 to April 13 at the Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea.
