What is Pleos OS?
The name Pleos combines the Greek word “Pleo,” meaning “more,” with “OS” for Operating System, symbolizing Hyundai’s commitment to delivering more value through innovation. Pleos OS is an end-to-end platform that integrates high-performance chips, vehicle operating systems, cloud infrastructure, and mobility optimization solutions.
Pleos OS key features
One of the standout features of the new OS is its ability to support autonomous driving, vehicle connectivity, and real-time data analysis. The system also includes Pleos Connect, a next-generation infotainment interface with a large tablet-style screen. Unlike touch-only systems, Pleos retains physical buttons and knobs for enhanced usability, catering to a wide range of user preferences.
Hyundai has also introduced Pleos ID, a personalized user profile system that allows drivers to access their settings across any Pleos-equipped vehicle. This feature leverages cloud connectivity to ensure a seamless and customizable experience. Additionally, Pleos incorporates Gleo AI, an intelligent assistant that enables voice recognition-based vehicle control.
The system is designed to evolve over time, with Hyundai planning to roll out Level 2+ autonomous driving capabilities by 2027. Pleos OS will debut in the second quarter of 2026 and is expected to feature in over 20 million Hyundai vehicles by 2030.
