Tata recently launched the new Altroz racer in the Indian market. The sportier iteration of the Altroz hot hatchback comes with a turbo petrol engine with a manual transmission, sporty exhaust note, racing car inspired colours and graphics. The Altroz Racer directly rivals with the Korean hot hatch the Hyundai’s i20 N Line. In this specification comparison we will see how the Altroz Racer competes with the Hyundai i20 N Line which is the sportier version of the i20 hatchback.

Hyundai i20 N Line Vs. Tata Altroz Racer – Price

The Hyundai i20 N Line come with a total of 8 variants including the 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT gearboxes as well as Monotone and Dualtone colour options. Prices for the i20 N Line start at INR 9,99,500 ex-showroom and goes upto INR 12,51,800 ex-showroom.

The Tata Altroz Racer comes with three variants and three colour options. The R1, R2 and R3 variants starts with an introductory price of INR 9.49 lakh ex-showroom. The R2 trim is priced at INR 10.49 lakh ex-showroom and the R3 variant is priced at 10.99 lakh ex-showroom. Tata also offer three colour options – Atomic Orange, Pure Grey, and Avenue White.

Hyundai i20 N Line Vs. Tata Altroz Racer – Powertrain

Powering the Hyundai i20 N Line is a 1.0-litre Turbocharged GDi (Gasoline Direct injection) petrol engine. The 3-cylinder engine develops 120 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque matched to a 7-speed DCT gearbox or an optional 6-speed manual transmission.

On the other hand, The Altroz Racer comes with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The engine produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual transmission. Tata currently does not offer the Altroz Racer with an automatic gearbox option.

Hyundai i20 N Line Vs. Tata Altroz Racer – Dimensions

In terms of size, the Hyundai i20 N Line is 3,995 mm in length, 1,775 mm in width and 1,505 mm in height. The hatchback also comes with a wheelbase of 2,580 mm. The Tata Altroz measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,755 mm in width and 1,523 mm in height. The Altroz Racer comes with a 2,501 mm wheelbase.

in terms of features, the Hyundai i20 N Line comes with chequered flag design leather seats with N logo but Tata offers ventilated front seats on the Altroz Racer. While Tata offers a Harman powered 26.03-cm central touchscreen infotainment  display, the i20 N Line comes with a 26.03-cm touchscreen display paired with Bose sound system. Both the cars also come with automatic climate control and rear AC vents. In addition to this, the Altroz Racer and they i20 N Line also get control mounted steering wheel as well as voice commands with connected features.
