Hyundai hikes prices of Verna & Aura sedans

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

After the recent announcement of the price hike of Santro, Grand i10 Nios and i20, Hyundai India has raised the prices for Verna and Aura as well. With this, both the sedans will now cost up to INR 13,000 more. In the sub-4-metre offering, Aura is dearer by up to INR 9,000. All the trims of the Aura have been affected by this price hike, including both petrol and diesel options.

Meanwhile, prices for the Verna are up by INR 9,000 to 13,000. The exact price hike depends upon the variant. The top-spec SX petrol, SX diesel AT, and SX diesel see a price hike of INR 13,000. Not just for Hyundai, a host of other car makers have also announced similar price hikes for their range of products.

Other Updates

Hyundai India recently launched the Knight Edition of its popular SUV, Creta. The new edition will further create some buzz around the car, which is already popular in the market. The prices for this edition start from INR 13,51,200 for the S+ petrol variant with manual transmission. Meanwhile, the top-spec SX(O) trims cost INR 17,22,000 for petrol and INR 18,18,000 for diesel. All prices mentioned are in ex-showroom. Creta has been a blockbuster hit for HMIL. The car has also been one of the strong reasons we are witnessing the strong demand for SUVs in the market.

Alcazar will soon arrive with a CNG kit. As per the latest spy shots, Hyundai is testing the Alcazar with a CNG option. And hence this makes us believe that Hyundai will soon introduce this green fuel option. There’s a similar story happening for Kia Carens as well. The latest report suggests that Kia, too, is increasingly expanding its CNG options. As it looks, both the South Korean carmakers are taking some serious steps toward CNG options. CNG could play a pivotal role with the crowd-pulling away from petrol/diesel options. Given the current woes concerned with electric vehicles, CNG looks quite promising.
