Hyundai Creta IMT variant priced at INR 12.67 lakh

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Hyundai is planning to launch the IMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) variant of the popular Creta SUV in the Indian market. The Hyundai Creta IMT is likely to be paired with the 1.5-litre petrol engine option. Sources report that the new IMT variant of the Creta will come with a price tag of 12.67 lakh ex-showroom.

This leads us to believe that the Creta IMT will be approximately INR 23,000 more expensive than the manual transmission variant. This could prove as an excellent deal to Hyundai aficionados. To put things into perspective, the Kia Seltos SUV, which already retails the IMT variant, is priced at INR 12.39 lakh ex-showroom. In comparison, the IMT variant of the Seltos is around INR 40,000, more costly than the manual transmission counterpart.

Hyundai Creta – Variant Line-Up

The Hyundai Creta comes with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed IVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Automatic) and 6-speed torque converter automatic (diesel) transmission options. Recently, the brand reshuffled the variant line-up adding five new variants and deleting two variants from the Creta portfolio.

Hyundai Creta – Future

Hyundai is planning to introduce the Creta facelift soon in the Indian market. Spyshots of the new Creta have emerged on the internet, which lead us to believe that the brand will soon be introducing the SUV. However, before the new Creta is introduced, the brand may be planning to give the current model a push. Thanks to the introduction of the new IMT model Creta is likely to get a boost in its sales.

In addition to this, Hyundai is also planning to introduce a new Dark Knight edition of the Creta SUV, which is likely to be the final edition before the new Creta is launched. At the GIIAS 2021 in Indonesia, the brand revealed the new Creta with the Parametric Dynamics design language. The brand is likely to launch the new Creta in India by the end of this year.
