Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has announced that the Creta has emerged as the highest-selling passenger vehicle in India for June 2025, clocking 15,786 units. This milestone not only reinforces Creta’s dominance in the SUV segment but also marks a decade of leadership since its debut in 2015.

The Creta was also the top-selling model in March and April, making it the undisputed leader for H1 2025.

A decade of dominance

Since its launch, the Creta has consistently led the mid-size SUV segment, earning the nickname “Creta segment” due to its overwhelming popularity. With over 1.2 million units sold, it has become a household name across urban and rural India.

Powertrain options and EV expansion

The SUV continues to offer a wide range of powertrains:

  • 1.5L MPi petrol (115 bhp, 144 Nm) with manual and IVT options
  • 1.5L turbo-petrol (160 bhp, 253 Nm) with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT
  • 1.5L diesel (116 bhp, 250 Nm) with manual and automatic choices

Hyundai has also introduced the Creta Electric, available with 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs, offering up to 473 km of range.

Features that keep it ahead

The cabin is packed with segment-leading features:

  • Dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and instrumentation
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and dual-zone climate control
  • ADAS suite, 6 airbags, and 360-degree camera

These features make it a compelling choice for both tech-savvy buyers and family-focused users.

Our thoughts

We love how Hyundai has kept the formula fresh with every update, while staying true to what made the Creta iconic. And now with an EV variant in the mix? That’s Hyundai saying, “We’re not just celebrating 10 years—we’re gearing up for the next 10.”
