Hyundai bags 30,000 bookings for new Creta, regains #1 SUV spot in India

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has announced that the all-new Creta SUV has bagged 30,000 bookings since its launch in India and has regained the top spot in the SUV segment. The brand has also announced that with the all-new Creta SUV it is leading the Indian market in ‘Unlock 1.0’ topping the sales charts in the month of May. Also, the new Creta’s marketing campaign  has garnered over 258 million media impressions, since March 2020 and over 19.5 million TVC views.

The Hyundai Creta is now in its second-generation and the SUV was launched just before the lockdown was imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the popular SUV gained 20,000 bookings in the last month via the brand’s digital sales network, ‘Click to Buy’. The Click to Buy platform integrates more than 500 Hyundai dealerships across India and includes the new Creta along with nine other Hyundai cars from the brand’s portfolio.

The all-new Hyundai Creta features a chrome treated cascading grille, trio LED headlamps, boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights, fog lamps on the front bumper, a silver finished skid plate, crease line on the bonnet, flared wheel arches, a lightning arch effect on the C-pillar, rear spoiler and twin-tipped exhaust.

On the interiors, the SUV features a two-tone black and beige cabin with a centrally mounted 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Advanced BlueLink connected technology with over 50 connectivity features, Bose sound system, 7-inch digital full-colour instrumentation, flat-bottomed steering wheel with paddle shifters and controls, air-purifier, cooled glove box, wireless smartphone charging, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, LED reading lamps, blue ambient lighting, contoured and ventilated front seats with 8-way electric adjustments, 2 step reclining rear seats, front & rear USB charger etc. 

The new Hyundai Creta is powered by three engine options a 1.5 MPi naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 115 ps of power and 144 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed manual or an IVT (CVT) gearbox, 1.4 Kappa Turbo GDi Petrol engine that produces 140 ps of power and 242 Nm of torque coupled to a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Automatic Transmission) and a 1.5 U2 turbocharged CRDi diesel engine that produces 115 ps of power and 250 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter type gearbox. Needless to say, all engines offered are BS6 emissions compliant. 

Hyundai has also revealed that 55% of the bookings constitute of the brand’s BS6 Diesel variants and that the Hyundai Creta is the most researched vehicle on the brand’s online platform ‘Click to buy’.
