HOP Electric Mobility launches 2 e-scooters in India

Indian electric mobility solutions company HOP Electric Mobility has launched two new electric scooters in India. The HOP LEO and HOP LYF e-scooters start at the price of INR 65,500 ex-showroom. The HOP LYF is the entry-level model priced at INR 65,500, and the HOP LEO is priced at INR 72,500 ex-showroom onwards.

The brand has announced that the electric scooters will provide customers with a cost-effective and easy to maintain mobility solution. The electric scooters also produce zero tailpipe emissions. This will address the global warming issue and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Environmental pollution, especially in metropolitan cities, is becoming a severe issue, and HOP Electric Mobility provides the green solution to the problem. 

HOP LYF Electric Scooter

The HOP LYF electric scooter comes in three variants – LYF Basic, LYF (Standard) and LYF Extended. Powering the HOP LYF is an electric motor that can generate up to 2000 Watts of mechanical power. The 72V electric motor is coupled to a dual 2X lithium-ion battery. The power unit can deliver a top speed of 50 kmph and come with a range of 125 km per charge. 

HOP LEO Electric Scooter

The HOP LEO electric scooter is also offered in three variants – LEO Basic, LEO (Standard) and LEO Extended. The scooter features a 72V 2700W electric motor and a dual 2X lithium-ion battery. Like the HOP LYF, the HOP LEO can also return a range of 125 km on a single charge. But the more powerful electric motor can propel the scooter to a top speed of 60 kmph. 

HOP LEO & HOP LYF – Top Features

Both the HOP LEO and HOP LYF comes with a 19.5-litre under-seat storage capacity and capability of 180 kg payload. Premium features also include reverse gear up to 5kmph, three ride modes, side stand sensor, LED console, Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging, disc brakes, remote key, anti-theft alarm and anti-theft wheel lock. 

HOP Electric Mobility Upcoming e-Motorcycle

HOP also revealed that the brand would launch a new e-bike, HOP OXO 100, in India. The OXO 100 will come with a 7200W electric motor capable of a 100 km range on a single charge and a top speed of 100 kmph.

HOP Energy Network

The brand is also planning to launch the Hop Energy Network. This network will have a built-in battery swapping cum charging station. Here customers will be able to replace their discharged battery with a fully charged battery. Currently, HOP is running a pilot network with 5 Swapping stations and 50 Batteries in Jaipur. 

HOP Manufacturing Plant in India

HOP can manufacture 50,000 vehicles per year, which the brand plans to expand to 1 lakh units a year by 2022. The 40,000 square feet long manufacturing plant is located in Jaipur. The brand also revealed that it plans to set up a new manufacturing unit in South India, with an annual capacity of 5 lakh units.
