Honda X-ADV crossover scooter coming to India?

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Honda has filed an interesting patent here in India. The brand does sell scooters up to 125cc in our market, and for the adventure loving enthusiast, they have the Africa Twin on sale. But here’s one product which can be a mix of these two in a very unique way. Honda has filed a patent for the X-Adv crossover scooter in our market. Will it be launched, time will tell…

The X-Adv is a radical looking scooter. And why shouldn’t it be one, it is meant to go off-road along with offering you a scooter-like feel while doing so. If at all Honda does plan to bring it to our market, this would become their flagship scooter offering in the country. Obviously, it will come as either a CBU or CKD.

Powering the Honda X-Adv is a 745cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor producing 54 PS of power and 68 Nm of torque matched to a dual-clutch 6-speed automatic gearbox. The X-Adv comes with features such as dual channel ABS, telescopic front fork, rear monoshock with preload adjustment, steel diamond chassis, 13.1L fuel tank, fuel efficiency of 27.5 kmpl, LED headlamp & tail lamp, large front windscreen, contoured seats, full digital instrument console, upswept exhaust, spoked rims, knuckle guards, etc.

The X-Adv also allows you manual gearshifting with a handlebar-mounted toggle switch and you can switch between Drive & Sport modes.

Honda has showcased multiple products and patented a few more in the Indian market. But not all have made it to the showrooms. We don’t expect to see the X-Adv here in India anytime soon. But if Honda plans to surprise us all, won’t it be quite an exciting product proposition?
