Honda will set up COVID Care Isolation Centers & Oxygen production plants

Honda India is the newest automotive firm to announce its support for the current ongoing Covid-19 crisis in India. The CSR arm of Honda India, named Honda India Foundation, now announces its Covid-19 support and relief measures. The channel will provide support to the state government of Haryana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Gujarat.

Under this initiative, the Honda India Foundation will also build Covid Care Isolation Centres and Oxygen production plants for the state governments. The company is in collaboration with various stakeholders who are taking care of things at the grassroots level. The company mentions that it pledged a sum of INR 65 million in this phase to help the cause.

The Role Of Honda India Foundation In Covid-19

The social arm of the Japanese automotive maker is setting up a 100-bed facility at the manufacturer’s warehouse facility in Manesar. In addition to this, Honda India Foundation is also adding another 50-100 bed facility at the Government Girl School in Tapukara, Rajasthan. As per plans, these Covid-19 care centres will commence operation in the upcoming week.

Honda also mentioned that they are looking at other possible locations to set up these Covid-19 isolation centres. The company mentioned that they are working with various other state governments to set up Oxygen Production Plants. This includes districts of Kolar in Karnataka, Gautam Budh Nagar in Uttar Pradesh, Alwar in Rajasthan and Manesar in Haryana.

Various Important Initiatives Taken By Honda India Foundation

The Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Honda is taking some important steps to help the country in the Covid-19 crisis. This includes the extensive distribution exercise of essential medical equipment like PPE kits, masks, sanitisers and frontline workers. HIF will also help provide the local governments by providing pulse oximeter, thermometers, oxygen concentrators and food packets.

Honda India Foundation has always been on the front foot in launching initiatives supporting road safety, education and healthcare. Honda2Wheelers had also recently announced the temporary closure of all of its four manufacturing plants. Honda did this to help curb the spread of the virus.
