One of India’s leading car manufacturer Honda Cars India Limited has launched the BSVI compliant variant of their most popular Honda Amaze. The Honda Amaze will now be available with both petrol and diesel options with a BSVI emission compliant engine. By launching the BSVI compliant engine Honda has shown their commitment towards the Govt.’s policy towards an environmentally friendly future.
Honda Amaze will be the first model from the Honda line-up to get the updated BSVI compliant diesel engine, which Honda claims to be the most powerful in India in the segment along with the best balance of fuel economy. The Honda Amaze Diesel will be powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that will churn out 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque available with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Amaze i-DTEC diesel engine also comes equipped with a CVT gearbox which produces 80 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. The diesel manual version of the car claims 24.7 kmpl of mileage while the CVT automatic claims 21 kmpl.
To curb with the stringent emission norms Honda has applied an advanced exhaust gas after-treatment system which has a Nitrogen Oxide Storage Catalyst (NSC) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The technology together helps Honda Amaze BSVI meet the target of Particulate matter (PM) and Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) emission. Honda has also applied its Silver Thin Coated Diesel Particulate Filter (STC-DPF) technology which enables the reduction of Particulate Matter (PM) combustion time by 40% as compared to the conventional DPF.
The Honda Amaze is also available in the petrol variant equipped with a BSVI compliant 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine which produces 90 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque available in both manual transmission and a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic. The petrol model claims a fuel efficiency of 18.6 kmpl on the manual transmission version and 18.3 kmpl on the CVT automatic gearbox.
