Honda sold 6,086 cars in February 2023

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has updated its sales report. The carmaker posted total domestic sales of 6,086 units in February 2023. The export numbers for HCIL for the given period stood at 973 units in Feb’23. 

Honda Now Fully Focussed Towards The India Market

Honda mentioned that their sales performance for the month of Feb’23 has been quite encouraging. These are in line towards seamless transition of its models to new emission norms. Honda also talked about the launch of New City. For which they are quite confident that it will generate new excitement and appealing options for customers.

For your reference, Honda registered 7,187 units in domestic sales and exported 2,337 units in February’ 22.

Honda India’s Plans For The Future

In recent reports, Honda talked about its future steps. The carmaker is focusing on three-volume pillars to defend its market share in the passenger vehicle markert. These products are namely, the compact sedan Amaze, its flagship premium sedan City (petrol and hybrid) and its upcoming sport utility vehicle in the mid-segment.

Honda India Restructuring As Per Market Needs

Honda mentioned that they are in the process of restructuring the model line-up as per the  market needs. They are also keeping in mind of the stringent emission norms in India. And thus, they have also discontinued the diesel powertrain. This goes with their long term view of carbon neutrality. Honda mentioned that they will also discontinue models like Jazz and W-RV and the fourth generation of the City.

The key focus now is now on the new Honda City with hybrid and petrol powertrains. With limited products in the pipeline, Honda can better serve the customers and meet their needs. With the new City, Honda will aim to showcase its new identity and plans for the Indian market. This is the best platform for the carmaker  to prove its dedication.
